The puppies are continuing the grow and are getting more and more playful each day. I think my favorite part abut having puppies is watching them come into their personalities. Each one of them love to play and tussle with each other and run after our son. They are all doing great with the adjustment to puppy food from their momma's milk. It is at this age that they are weaned from their momma, yet they still get to tussle and play with her because they learn many lessons by watching mom and interacting with her so we want them to have that chance to learn from her until they are placed with their new adoptive families. I will be updating pictures this week so make sure to check out our available puppies page at www.theschnoodleshack.com

A Little History about Schnoodles

I thought I would share this with those of you who share a love of Schnoodles.

SCHNOODLE HISTORY
It is believed that a dog with Schnoodle heritage was first created in England and known as
the Truffle Dogs. It is believed that Toy Poodles were crossed with small dogs from the Terrier
family to create this new dog. These dogs specialized in hunting Truffles. Truffles were very
valuable and gathering them often required trespassing on others land and thus was done
at night. These dogs were very helpful in locating the Truffles in the dark of the night.
The first known crossing of the Poodle and the Schnauzer in America was in the 1980s. It is
believed that this first occurrence of purposeful cross-breeding, to create a Schnoodle, was
done in Minnesota.
While in England, Schnoodles or Schnoodle-like dogs may have been bred in the past to create
dogs to help gather Truffles, but in America the modern day Schnoodle is bred purely as a
companion dog.

Josie's babies are getting so big! Each and every day they amaze me on how playful they are and how much they love to cuddle. These sweet babies love to just spend hours being played with and it is cute to see how their mom interacts with them. I think the most fun I have is getting to watch them play with each other and run after my young son. It is hard to believe that in just a few short weeks they will all be placed in their new families. If you are interested in making one of them a part of your family please check them out at www.theschnoodleshack.com. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Sunday, April 15, 2012

Well I don't know about all of you but this rain is sort of making this Sunday a bit gloomy. It is good that I have dogs and puppies that always brighten my day up even when the weather does not want to cooperate. The puppies are doing very well after their visit to the vet the other day. They love to tussle with each other and our youngest son. It is great to get to spend these weeks with them before they go to their new homes. I have only started to advertise them and have had quite a bit of interest in them and have even had one of the girls spoken for at this time. I am curious how long it will take to fine forever homes for the other adorable puppies I have. If history is any indication I think they will find their forever homes very quickly once I truly start advertising them.

My mom also has 2 puppies left to place and they actually are ready right now to go to their new forever homes. One is an adorable  little girl who is just a little snuggle bug and then their is a cute playful little boy that is also ready to meet his new family members. I am hoping that both of them get that chance to go to their new homes very soon. All of our babies are well socialized and if you want a puppy that will give you their unconditional love then give us a call because I am sure we have EXACTLY what you are looking for.! I can't wait to hear from you soon!

Puppies are Here!

Our puppies have arrived and are looking for their forever homes. My mom's girl, Jazzy, gave birth to 2 girls and 3 boys and they are just turning 9 weeks old and 3 of them have found their forever homes and she is now down to 2. One is a sweet little girl who will cuddle up with you in a heartbeat and the other is a sweet little boy who is playful as can be. My mom has been raising puppies as long as I can remember and in fact it is because of her that I began breeding Schnoodles myself. I just loved the Schnoodle breed so much that I just knew I had to have some of these sweet dogs myself and from there it just turned into a passion that I share with my mom. Between the 2 of us we have over 30 years of breeding and raising these adorable little dogs. Currently I have a little of 4 puppies that include 2 boys and 2 girls and they will be ready to go to their new homes after the 26th of April. Because we spend so much time with our puppies they are very well socialized prior to going to their new homes. We have only a handful of litters a year between the two of us so we encourage all of those that are interested in adopting one of our precious puppies that you visit our website at www.theschnoodleshack.com and check out our nursery page to see the puppies that are available for adoption. Currently we have only 6 puppies available and as history has proven to us they will go fast. We only get a few weeks with our sweet puppies, yet for us, they stay in our hearts and part of our family for life. If you want to meet our sweet puppies I hope that you visit us soon. Every person who cuddles one of our puppies has never been able to resist taking one of them home and making them a forever member of their family....perhaps this could be YOU in the near future. Take care all and I hope you visit us soon!
